ABBA Dancing Queen

August 18th, 2008

“Dancing Queen” is, by far, the most popular single ever released by Swedish pop group ABBA, and much of that is due to the joint vocals of female members Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Faltskog. It was recorded for their 1975 album Arrival.

“Dancing Queen” has endured over 23 years and is still kicking today, making regular appearances on radio stations around the world. It’s still a popular dance song, having found its place as the 33rd most successful song in music history, and is probably the first song people think of when they think of ABBA.

“Dancing Queen” did amazingly well on the charts, hitting number one in no less than 15 countries during its release and netting high spots in the rest of the musically-inclined countries as well. Its since become a staple of modern culture and has been used and parodied in a variety of media ever since its release.
